Military Service Wall of Honor Dedication

Wayne High School was decorated red, white, and blue Thursday, Aug. 28, for the formal dedication of the Military Service Wall of Honor. This display recognizes the dedication and sacrifice of Wayne alumni who are serving, or have served, in the U.S. military. Nearly 100 people attended the ceremony, including 2023 Wayne graduate Lamar Hawkins, who was home on leave from the Army.
Event organizer Jenn Davis said names continue to come in, and the display's second panel is almost full. Visit Nomination Form to submit details for future inclusion. Names submitted through Nov. 1 will be added to the display near the end of December..
The wall builds on the district’s Purple Star designation and reinforces its commitment to supporting military families. The project was made possible by generous contributions from local businesses, organizations, and community members, including the City of Huber Heights, the Huber Heights Veterans Commission, and the Huber Heights Athletic Foundation.
