The Safety and Violence Education (SAVE) Students Act, enacted by Ohio’s 133rd General Assembly, addresses school security and youth suicide awareness education and training.
The state legislation requires a comprehensive approach to school safety, engaging the Ohio Departments of Education, Public Safety, Mental Health and Addiction Services, and the Attorney General’s Office. This approach focuses on ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of both students and educators.
Ohio school districts are required by law to provide the following to students in grades 6-12:
